Dreamer's World February 27, 2018 - Breaking Through

Sometimes, obstacles are in our way to do nothing more than inspire us to get over, around, or through them. How we approach setbacks in our daily lives tells us a lot about ourselves. We can see what type of person we are by how we respond to the obstacles we face. I don’t mean to say that we are always going to respond in the same way to each challenge, but I believe that a pattern can be found over time.
Someone who wants to go “over” a challenge probably sees the obstacle as something to force them into a better way of doing things. They look at the situation and try to find the solution that will elevate them so they won't have to deal with the problem again because they have found the root cause and determined the best way to overcome it both now and in the future.
A person who goes “around” the problem is one who knows that some issues will always exist and that the best thing to do is to know how to navigate the tricky parts. They seek the shortest path around the obstacle to have that memorized for the next time. They are more concerned with getting to the desired end result than they are with taking the time to remove the obstacle in the first place.
Finally, there are those who are direct. They see obstacles as something that obstructs the shortest path between where they are and where they want to go. Every effort will be made to run right through any obstacle. Timing is critical to these people, and there is no excuse for sitting and pondering the obstacle. For them, the obstacle exists and therefore must be removed because it is impeding them. Obliterating the obstacle might not be the most efficient way through, but for these people, it is the quickest and requires the least amount of deviation from their desired route.
We all will utilize each of these approaches at different times throughout our lives. Our action depends on the particular circumstances we are facing then. There is no right or wrong course of action, just variations on a theme.
